Sarah Stark stopped by for a little stroll down camp memory lane...
and the boys bonded with Yona
Now we are on the bus up to Abs and kibbutz!
As we heading up north to the Galil we were amazed at the gorgeous greenery and mountains and farms- so different than the deserts we saw last week and they are only 2 hours from each other!
We went to Galita a chocolate factory, learned how the chocolate is made and then created our own masterpieces. The boys built chocolate houses and decorated them, while Abs and I made our usual trouble :) Most amazing chocolate you've ever tasted- sorry Hershey's!
We then went out to dinner for such fresh kebabs and salads and huge lafas we ate again til we couldn't move.
We headed back to kibbutz and hung out at Abs laughing playing with the kids and catching up.

In the morning we went with Abs to drop Ayala off at the baby house, walked the big kids to school and had breakfast in the main dining hall- it's like an idyllic camp! Animals wandering, kids walking alone, everyone riding bikes and saying good morning. There is a communal laundry room, library, even a supermarket, dentist and hair salon!! We took a quick peek at the petting zoo until I got itchy and needed to keep moving. We picked oranges on the path for a snack and saw the natural spring they all swim in- the water stays warm all year round! Was such a cool experience and so great to spend time with Abs. Next we headed back to Raanana to Sarah for shabbat- good thing Sammy got comfy on the bus :) The kids loved that we were on a bus filled with soldiers who as they got off at their stops wished each other and us a Shabbat Shalom...Ben loved that " their moms were waiting for them at home with all of their favorite foods waiting, I bet".
We had an amazing Shabbat my friend Clifford and his family came over to visit and hang out people kept popping in to meet the boys and say hi and see how our trip was it was lovely The kids all laughed and played and sang all the songs from the radio til we couldn't sing anymore. James and the boys played Risk for 4 hours Shabbat afternoon while I bonded with Yona and laughed and cried with Sarah for hours. It was heaven. As night creeped up we got sadder and sadder and packed up to go to the airport. James surprised us and went out to pick up McDonald's.
After lots of hugs and lots of tears and baby snuggles, James dropped us off at the airport. After a very long hard flight we landed back in NYC very sad but feeling so grateful and blessed to have had such a perfect trip in Israel. The boys has so many poignant moments, so many great observations and bonded so much with everyone, it's a trip we will never forget....and they are ready to get back on the plane like I am.
